Wedding Thriller Dance! Happy Halloween!

Friday, October 31st, 2008

I think this is one of the classic videos that started the whole “Rock the Wedding Reception” custom dance craze. Everyone looked like they had a good time and the moves were fabulous. They were ON!

Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” is one of the all-time greatest videos EVER in my opinion.

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge thinks it is a lot of fun and very memorable to do a custom dance with your wedding party, if they are all on board with it of course and are available to be there to learn the moves. If you are going to go through the trouble of doing one of these dances with your wedding party, it should look good (because it should be on video), right?

Make it fun and make it memorable.

Have a fun and Stylin’ Halloween!

Happy Halloween With Love from Vegas & Rocky Horror!

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge could not resist posting this. A Rocky Horror Wedding Ceremony video…in Las Vegas…found just in time for Halloween.

I LOVE the Rocky Horror Picture Show (saw it 13 times + the stage musical back in the day) and this is Vegas fun and wedding kitch at it’s absolute best. You have to admit, these people and their guests are just having a great time and that is what Las Vegas is all about. I always say, if you can’t have fun at your Destination Las Vegas wedding, then what are you coming here to get married for?

And the venue where all this wedding “madness takes its toll”?….

The famous Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel on the Las Vegas Strip. They do everything from traditional weddings to Elvis weddings to Goth, Vampire and Rocky Horror Weddings. These people LOVE what they do and I think it must be a total kick to get to dress up and perform weddings and make people happy to tie the knot in their style.

So Happy Halloween everyone! Have fun, be safe and enjoy the show!

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge is very excited to announce I am now a Founding Member of “WIPA”,

WIPA is a professional organization that is run by its Members, who understand what it takes to effectively produce a wedding, and membership is open to all types of wedding-related businesses (planners, service providers, vendors and venues).

WIPA’s mission is provide the industry a forum where we can rely on our members to teach, challenge, and encourage each other to continue our path of innovation, while still keeping our code of ethics in the forefront of our business practices, thereby bringing the best possible product to our client and each other.” From WIPA Website & Membership Brochure.

Membership will be considered in WIPA for those with 3 or more years of Industry Experience which is a little different than most other Wedding Associations and the opportunities for an industry wide standardized exam and professional certification are also the goals of WIPA.

I am very excited to have been invited to join WIPA as a Founding Member and look forward to the exciting and important things this association and our members will contribute to the betterment of our Industry for ourselves, our clients and those that are new to the industry as well.

Visit www.WIPAUSA.org to view the wedding industry leaders who have created WIPA and an email for getting more information if you are interested in membership while the site is being created. I am looking forward to my industry colleagues, who for many years have discussed amongst us the possibility of an organization like this getting off the ground, joining me in this association.

Wedding Planning & the Economy-A Little Advice Goes a Long Way!

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Image from Flickr.com
With the economy being the way it is these days, couples that are in the midst of planning or just starting to plan a wedding are certainly re-thinking a lot of things and how they will proceed and plan and manage to make their vision happen with less. Some couples or families who are blessed to have the funds for a big budget wedding are also reconsidering some elements out of concern that they would be perceived as uncaring while others are suffering. Then again, some other bride’s are throwing all caution to the wind in favor of having “their day”; sagging economy and shrinking pocket book be damned.

I found these interesting comments on one of my favorite wedding industry websites, “The Weddex Blog” by Rebecca Grinnals of Engaging Concepts in her most recent post on a New York Times article about all this.

I believe there are going to be a lot of couples who are going to approach the planning and dealing with the expenses by “using a hatchet instead of a scalpel” as our Democratic Presidential Candidate” was quoted as saying in the first debate in referring to spending cuts. (This is not to be taken as a public endorsement of the candidate by any means but I just like the analogy).

This concerns Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge because I fear that many couples will be making uneducated cuts or taken advantage of in trying to go cheap (I HATE THAT WORD) to make their budget.

This isn’t a good approach in the best of times and I fear it will be a common problem in the future so here is what I suggest. I bet you will never guess what I am going to say?

If you thought I would say “Hire a Professional Wedding Consultant”, you are 100% right!

So why on earth would you spend money in hiring a Wedding Consultant right now when every penny counts? Because a professional wedding consultant understands just that.

I understand that not all of you are in the position to afford a planner for wedding day direction or full planning services, but for a small investment and a few hours of time, I (or any professional wedding consultant in your area) can help you avoid costly mistakes by…
  • Giving you suggestions on how to best prioritize the very precious dollars you have to spend.
  • Guiding you to the most talented, ethical and responsible wedding professionals I know and trust to take good care of you and make sure you get the very best service and/or product possible for your money (whether I am part of your wedding day or not).
  • Time is money and a 2 hour consultation can put you on the right track to finding the good and trusted resources quickly so you can get tasks taken care of sooner; get back to your important job and not be stressed out (we have enough to stress about right now for heavens’ sake!).
My consultation services are available at any time during the planning process so never fear that it is too late to ask for some advice. I will be happy to work with you on an hourly basis as well based on your needs. And, you can always reach me here online and comment or ask me a question here in my Diary.

The economy is taking us for a wild, gut wrenching ride right now. Weddings should be a bright spot in our lives to enjoy the loving relationships that help get us through all this madness. I am here for you to make sure you stay in the car with your seatbelt buckled and help you get to the church on time with your sanity and pocket book still in your pocket.

Delicious, Luxury Favors offer Clean, Calorie Free Fun for Guests!

“Le Viette” serves up the “Green Tea Swiss Slice” Gourmet Towel

Looks good enough to eat, doesn’t it? Even better, it reminds me of a ring!

These 100% cotton confections are good clean fun and a total indulgent way to pamper your guests at wedding receptions, showers, brunches or bachelorettes. They also add to decor displays and a perfect choice for gracious gift-giving ideas, as hostess gifts and gifts for kids…of all ages.

Kaitlyn Lee, the owner and creator of “Le Viette” (“le viette” is French for Serviette or napkin) takes hospitality to a whole new level by lovingly recreating sweet looking confections with these dessert towels.

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge loves these delightful and completely unique and personalized towels. This is a perfect way to pamper your guests and that is just what Kaitlyn thinks too. As a matter of fact, Le Viette’s motto is “When indulgences are occasional, they should be exceptional”.

I could not agree more!

Take the personalization even further by selecting your plated dessert or customize your after-party dessert table to include treats and deserts that look like these.

Also check out the chocolate “French Thousand Layer Cake” and the strawberry chocolate “5″ Fruit Frais Cake”.

Have a Stylish weekend!
